One-quarter of respondents nationwide strongly agree that the recent presidential election had a legitimate result. More respondents in the east and central highlands strongly agree with the legitimacy of the result than the other regions and respondents in the west reported the lowest levels of agreement with only 10 percent strongly agreeing that the result was legitimate. Another three-in-seven respondents nationwide somewhat agree that the result was legitimate. This more measured response was far more popular across the country, except in the central highlands where more respondents stated their strong agreement that the election result was legitimate.
