Respondents largely agreed that women should take a more active role in elections in Afghanistan. More than nine-in-ten respondents at least somewhat agreed that women should have the right to participate in elections, should register to vote, and can decide for whom to vote. Men and women agreed with these statements at nearly the same rate. Three-quarters of respondents feel that women should be more engaged in elections in Afghanistan. Only about 20 percent of respondents agreed at some level that men should vote on behalf of women.
