Overall, 42 percent of respondents think the security situation in their villages is better than a year ago, 35 percent feel it is the same, and 23 percent believe the situation is worse. Positive sentiment regarding security was highest in the central and east regions, where more than half of respondents feel more secure now than last year. Sentiment concerning security was most negative in the north and west regions, where more than one-third of respondents believe the situation has deteriorated. Meanwhile, the vast majority of respondents in the central highlands feel the situation is the same today as it was a year ago.
